Read More	Claris Irene Peterson, born October 9, 1940 to Clarence and Evelyn Peterson in Valentine, NE, passed away April 29, 2016 in Valentine NE. Claris was the youngest of three children. She attended grade school at Kewanee Dist. #4 and high school in Valentine, graduating in 1958. Claris boarded with Lyle and Erma Haas during her high school years. This is how she came to meet her future husband of 48 years. Claris was united in marriage to Larry L. Haas, Oct. 24, 1958 in Valentine, NE. To this union two children were born; Edith Ann and Roger James. Claris spent most of her younger years as a stay at home wife and mother. She later started working outside of the home. She started at Haas Texaco and then went on to work at Quality Discount, TG&Y, and Alco. She always enjoyed her jobs because of the people she was able to see and visit with. Claris enjoyed going out to the country every week-end to her dad and mom’s. She was an avid deer hunter and shot a record mount. Hunting was something Claris and Larry loved doing together. She enjoyed traveling. She was able to see a lot of the United States. She especially cherished Hawaii and Nashville, TN. Claris was a country music fan. She had quite a collection of vinyl records. Claris’ health deteriorated and she wasn’t able to do a lot of the activities she enjoyed. She always enjoyed her family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She spent her last years at Cherry Hills and Pineview. She always loved sharing pictures and stories of her family. Claris was preceded in death by her husband Larry Haas; parents Clarence and Evelyn Peterson and her brother Bill Peterson. Claris will be deeply missed by family and friends.
