Myres (sic) in North Big Bend was the scene of a very pretty double wedding when their daughter Miss Blanche S, Myres (sic) was united in marriage to Mr. Cleo C. Ball of Belleville and their son Guy W. Myres (sic) was united in marriage to Miss Helen I. Ball of Belleville. Lohengrein's (sic) wedding march was played by Miss Jewell Dawson of Sparks, Kans., while the wedding party took their places in front of an arch of pink and blue. The beautiful ring cermony (sic) was read by Rev. Walter Myres (sic) of Troy, Kans., brother of the Myres (sic) young people, while Miss Dawson played softly "Truly I Do". Mendelsohn's Bridal March was played as congratulatons (sic) were extended. Mr. and Mrs. Ball are very promising young people. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Ball of Belleville Mrs. Ball has taught three very successful terms of school in this county. Mr. and Mrs. Myres (sic) are also very highly Inspected and well liked by all their friends. The brides were gowned in silk crepe Mrs. Myres in blue and Mrs. Ball in pink with bridal wreaths and bouquets to match. The pink and blue color scheme was carried out throughout the decorations. After the ceremony a dainty two course dinner was served to the thirty guests. After which the brides and grooms departed to parts unknown for a two day wedding trip after which Mr. and Mrs. Ball will be at home on his fathers farm near Belleville and Mr. and Mrs. Myres (sic) will be at home on the H. M. Sweet farm south of Hardy, Nebr. ==================== The Belleville Telescope (Belleville, KS), Thursday, February 16, 1989; pg. 18 Cleo Ball Cleo Castile Ball, son of Harry E. and Blanche Mae Ball, was born June 19, 1909, at Belleville and died Sunday, February 12, 1989, at Republic County Hospital in Belleville, at the age of 79 years, seven months and 23 days. He was united in marriage to Blanche Salina Myers June 2, 1930, and to this union four children were born. He lived in the Belleville area most of his life being engaged in farming, trucking and 40 years as a house mover. He attended school at Pleasant View near Belleville and business college in Lincoln, Nebr. He attended the Wesleyan Methodist church (sic) and was a member of the Mid-States House Movers Association. He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant son, Marion Leroy, two brothers, W. C. in infancy, and Dale of Tucson, Ariz.; one sister, Goldie Beecher of Missouri. He is survived by his wife of the home; one son, Leo E. Ball of Belleville; two daughters, Mrs. Dale (Rosalyn) Blackburn of Richland, Mo., Mrs. Edward (Betty) Blackburn of Lebanon, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sylva Beecher of Belleville, Helen Myers of Kansas City, Kans. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., February 15 at the Wesleyan Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Brewster officiating. He was assisted by Rick Blackburn and Rev. Steven Knoll. Burial was in Chester Cemetery.
