Lemons, 94, son of Walter and Wilmoth Wilkins Lemons, died March 5, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Hall Lemons; one son, Jeffrey Lemons and wife, Rev. Evelyn Lemons, of Walnut Cove; grandson, Joey Lemons and wife, Katie, of King. Cleo was a member of Delta United Methodist Church and was a choir member for 50 years. He was a great lover of Blue Grass Music and Baseball. He was employed by Washington Mills and retired from Tultex. He worked for FSA Agriculture Dept. for 10 years and enjoyed farming. Cleo was called the “Music Man”. He promoted the Blue Grass Shows at Sandy Ridge School, beginning in 1948. He was the manager of the Sandy Ridge Baseball Team for several years. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at Delta United Methodist Church, with interment at Buffalo Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, March 7, 2016, at Delta United Methodist Church and other times at the residence. Memorials may be made to Delta United Methodist Church, 5993 NC 704 Hwy E, Sandy Ridge, NC 27046 or Buffalo Cemetery, 1693 NC 770 Hwy., Sandy Ridge, NC 27046 Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel in Sandy Ridge is serving the family.
