Mr. Lasater was born April 21, 1904, in Havensville, Kan., to Jess and Sadie Parsons Lasater. He attended school in Piedmont, Kan., and graduated from Eureka High School in Eureka, Kan. He then attended business school in Wichita, Kan. He married Mae Jordan on June 15, 1929, in Wichita. In 1936, Mr. and Mrs. Lasater opened a Chevrolet dealership in Madison, Kan., which they ran until 1965, except during the war. Mr. Lasater had a lifetime congenital hip condition, but he didn't let this stop him from flying airplanes. He had a pilot's license from 1943 to 1972, and worked for the Civil Air Patrol during the war. After retiring in 1970, the Lasaters built their home in the Poudre Canyon, picking the very best spot on the river to live among the people they loved. Survivors include two sisters, Jean Bowman of Oklahoma Cuty, Okla. and Hazel Bron of Gridley, Kan. His wife, his parents; a sister Savilla Jeffries; and two brothers, Quinten Lasater and Orville Lasater preceded him in death. Memorial contributions may be made to the Poudre Canyon Chapel in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, Fort Collins, CO.
