He is survived by his wife, Ella Marie; three children, ReJean, Kirk and Jerry all at home; his parents, Elza and Mildred Grove, Superior; a sister, Mrs. Don (NOTE: the name should be Ron) Hofts, Superior. Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home, Superior. Rev. Dale Doerr officiated. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery. Grove and Mildred Hattie Kern Grove, was born on a farm at Cadams, Nebraska on June 6, 1930. Cliff's childhood days were spent on the farm where he learned to love the out-of-doors, hunting and fishing, and all those good things that only a boy growing up on a farm would know. He went to grade school at Cadams and graduated from the Superior High School with the class of 1947. Cliff was married to Ella Marie Nelson on October 17, 1951 in Superior at the Centennial Lutheran Church. To this union three children were born: Kirk, ReJean and Jerry. Shortly after his marriage he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on January 17, 1952, serving during the Korean Conflict, based in Japan. He was honorably discharged as a corporal on January 11, 1954. After serving his country, he was back to the farm. Cliff was also owner for the past 15 years of the Farmers' Aerial Spraying Service. He was a member of the Danish Brotherhood Lodge, the Superior Eagles Lodge, a charter member of the Superior Elks Lodge, the Superior American Legion St. Mihiel Post #103, and held a life membership in the Superior VFW Post 355. From these many accomplishments, it is plain to see that Cliff was a lover of people. He was sort of quiet in one way, but accomplished with pride and perfection anything he set his mind to. His life was filled with different things from hot rods to the famous Santa Sleigh that thousands of happy kids have ridden. Cliff was that type of man who spoke only kind words. Cliff was preceded in death by his only brother, Jack, in 1956. He is survived by his parents, Elza and Mildred; his widow, Ella Marie; his children, Kirk Jens Grove, ReJean Ann Grove and Jerry Lynn Grove; his only sister, Nancy Hofts and her husband, Ron. Cliff passed away on November 2, 1974, near Nelson, Nebraska, due to a pickup truck accident, at the age of 44 years, 4 months and 26 days. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, November 6, 1974, at 2:00 p.m. from the Megrue-Price Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dale Doerr officiating.
