Read More	WAS KILLED BY FALL ON FORK Cline Robe of Southeast of Villisca is Fatally Injured when Fork Handle Pierces His Body DIES SOON AFTER ACCIDENT Lives Only Thirty Minutes After He is Hurt-Resided in This Vicinity Nearly All His Life Cline Robe, 36 years old and a resident of this vicinity nearly all his life was killed Wednesday morning at his home on the T. P. Woodward Farm three miles southeast of Villisca when he fell on the handle of a hay fork in the loft of the barn where he was putting away hay, the handle piercing him be went the legs and entering his body eighteen inches. He was hurt at 10:30 and died thirty minutes later. Mr. Robe had climbed to a brace at the bar on which he was standing to put a bully in the carrier which took the hay into the barn loft when befell or jumped, alighting on the fork which he had left standing only four or five feet below him. Though the workmen were near none of them saw him fall. He managed to pull the fork handle from his body and climb down the ladder from the loft, though he was bleeding profusely all the time. When he reached the bottom of the ladder, he fell to the ground and had to be carried to the house. A physician was called, but Mr. Robe’s life ebbed rapidly away and he died at 11 a.m. He was in a semi conscious condition following the accident and apparently knew the seriousness of his injury. Shortly before heeded he warned those about him that he could not live. Mr. Robe was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Newell Robe who resided with him on his family on the farm where he was killed. He was born in Villisca September 8, 1891 and was married to Edith Watson at Princeton, Missouri in 1917. To them was born one daughter, Mary Elizabeth, now 9 years of age. Besides his wife and daughter and parents he leaves also one brother of Villisca and one sister, Mrs. Lee Breckenmaker of Cumberland, Iowa. Arrangements for the funeral had not yet been completed. Interment will be made in the Villisca Cemetery. Villisca Review, Friday, July 13, 1928, page 1 & 5 The funeral of Cline Robe mention of whose death was made in last week’s Review, was held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock in the Methodist Church, with Rev. Geo. A. Lawton in charge of the service. The singing was by Mrs. A. F. Davie, Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Nordyke, and J. B. Means with Helen Bunker on the piano. The pall bearers were C. B. Curtis of Red Oak, Frank Umphress, Verne Robinson, Albert Jones. Geo. Davie, and Bert Kernen of Villisca. Interment was in the Villisca Cemetery. Villisca Review, Friday, July 20, 1928, page 5
