Clinton, son of Fred Jr. and Evalena (Houser) Asche, was born June 6, 1929 at Columbus, NE. Clinton was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus, NE. He attended school at rural District #43 in Platte County, completing the eighth grade. He graduated from Kramer High School in Columbus, NE with the class of 1946. Read More	Clinton Frederick Asche, 82 of Spalding, NE, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2011 at his home. Clinton, son of Fred Jr. and Evalena (Houser) Asche, was born June 6, 1929 at Columbus, NE. Clinton was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus, NE. He attended school at rural District #43 in Platte County, completing the eighth grade. He graduated from Kramer High School in Columbus, NE with the class of 1946. Following graduation, he began farming with his father near Columbus. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on Oct. 3, 1951 and served until his Honorable Discharge on Dec. 5, 1953 and returned to farming with his father. On July 20, 1956, Clinton was baptized into the Catholic faith at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus and on September 1, 1956, he was united in marriage to Jeanette Steiner at St. Mary's Catholic Church at rural Schuyler, NE. The couple made their home on a farm near Richland, NE until 1968 when they moved to Spalding, NE. Clinton continued farming, owned and operated Asche Ready-Mix, and drove a fuel truck for many years. Clinton was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and the St. Michael's Men's Club. Clinton is survived by: wife Jeanette Asche of Spalding; children: Theresa (Eric) Stahl of Sioux Falls, SD; James (Loretta) Asche of Malcolm, NE; Charles Asche of Grand Island, NE; Gerald (Gladys) Asche of Spalding, NE; Thomas (Sherry) Asche of Spalding, NE; Paul (Jennifer) Asche of O'Neill, NE; Mark (Beth) Asche of Spalding, NE; Matthew (Jennifer) Asche of Bridgeport, NE; daughter-in-law: Connie Asche of Beaman, IA; 27 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and sister: Marilyn Klug of Columbus, NE. Clinton was preceded in death by his parents; son: Steven Asche; sister: Karen Luchsinger; and brothers-in-law: Dean Klug and Paul Luchsinger. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Spalding, NE, with Rev. Don Buhrman and Rev. Jim Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery with Military Rites by American Legion Post #299 of Spalding and the United States Air Force Honor Guard.
