Towne Jr. Aug. 20, 1922 - July 17, 1995 Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Foster & Good Funeral Home, Rochester, for Clyde E. “Junior” TOWNE Jr., 72, 418 W. 7th Street. The Rev. Jeffrey S TAYLOR will officiate. Burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday until services at the funeral Home. The American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars will be in charge of military graveside rites. Mr. Towne died at 9:35 a.m. Monday at Rochester Health Care Center. He was born in Rochester to Clyde E. and Bessie HARTMAN TOWNE Sr. On Aug. 20, 1952 in Kewanna, he married Blanche Marie BALL, who died Jan. 8, 1995. He lived his entire life in the Rocheter community, and was a retired farmer and carpenter. He also worked for Flexible Foam Corp., Bremen, retiring in 1984. He served in the U.S. Army durng World War II. As a field artilleryman, he was in the third wave of the Normandy invasion and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He attended the former Sand Hill United Methodist Church near Rochester. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. John (Melody) ALLISON, Charleston, Ill.; two sons, Harry C. [TOWNE], Osceola; and Steven L. [TOWNE], Plymouth; five grandchildren, Bevin ALLISON, Charleston, Ill.; Melissa, Joseph, Bryan and Phillip TOWNE, all from Plymouth; four sisters, Norma Jean STARR, Marjorie MADDUX, and Mrs. Estel (Catherine) CRALL, all of Rochester; and Evelyn SHULTZ, South Bend, and one brother, Jack and wife (Beatrice) TOWNE, Marseilles, Ill. Preceding in death are two sisters, Lucille RYNEARSON and Mary Anne WINTERS; and four brothers, James Vernon, Emeraon, and Harold TOWNE.
