Description	:	Willie Hance Finley, 89, of Mountville, S.C., died Tuesday, June 1, in a Clinton, S.C. health care center. He was born in Laurens County, S.C., and was a son of the late Percy Wayland and Lue Ella O'Dell. He won a scholarship to Clemson College and graduated in 1931. He then taught school in Summerville, S.C. for several years before moving to other schools in North Carolina. Read More	Willie Hance Finley, 89, of Mountville, S.C., died Tuesday, June 1, in a Clinton, S.C. health care center. He was born in Laurens County, S.C., and was a son of the late Percy Wayland and Lue Ella O'Dell. He won a scholarship to Clemson College and graduated in 1931. He then taught school in Summerville, S.C. for several years before moving to other schools in North Carolina. Most of his educational career was spent as a teacher, principal and superintendent in the Franklin school system. He served his country during W.W. II, the Berlin Airlift, and the Korean War, retiring from the Air Force Reserve as a Lt. Colonel. He was a member of the Mountville Baptist Church. He was preceded in dalth by his first wife, Beatrice Kay Finley. He is survived by his wife Mary Finley; one son, Robert Hance Finley of Barnwell, S.C.; one daughter, Rebecca Finley Snyder of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two brothers, Jerome Finley of Mountville, S.C. and George Finley of Charlotte; four sisters, Frances Byers of Easley, S.C., Thelma Elledge of Greenville, S.C., Teressa Crawford of Ware Shoals and Rosanne Buchanan of Barnwell, S.C.; two grand daughters, three grandsons, on great-granddaughter and one great-grandson. Funeral services were held Thursday, June 3, at Mountville Baptist Church, with burial in the New Silver Brook Cemetery in Anderson, S.C.
