Description	:	CONNIE JEAN OPDAHL Funeral services were held on Thursday, February 28th for little Connie Jean Opdahl, with services at 2:00 p.m. in the local First Lutheran Church. Rev. E. Kristensen, local pastor, preached the funeral sermon. Misses Sherry and Sandra Froemke sang two songs: "Jesus Loves Me" and "What a Friend We Have in Jesus." Among the sixty memorials in memory of little Connie was one given by the immediate family, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Opdahl and children, Jan and Karen, to purchase a sand table for the Sunday School. Among the sixty memorials in memory of little Connie was one given by the immediate family, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Opdahl and children, Jan and Karen, to purchase a sand table for the Sunday School. A number of floral bouquets and wreaths banked the small casket. Burial with committal rites will be held in the spring in the Bethlehem Cemetery northwest of town. Pallbearers were: Dennis Engebretson, Loren McGregor, Gary Peterson and Gary Beechie. Circle No. 3, Mrs. Alfred Opdahl's Circle, served lunch after the service to the relatives and immediate friends. Connie Jean Opdahl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Opdahl, was born in Valley City, August 30, 1949. On Sunday October 9 of that year, she was baptized in First Lutheran Church by Rev. E. Kristensen, with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Opdahl serving as sponsors. She passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 24 after a brief illness. She was 2 years, 5 months and 25 days old. Besides her parents, she leaves her brother, Jan, and sister, Karen; grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Storhoff and Mrs. Iver Opdahl and a number of other relatives. Those who attended the funeral from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Storhoff, Nome; Mr. and Mrs. John McGregor, Enderlin; Mr. and Mrs. Art Abrahamson, Jr., Kathryn; Mr. and Mrs. Orvin Hoff, West Fargo; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Storhoff and Edmund Storhoff of Nome; Edgar, Gerhard and Howard Storhoff of Kathryn; Mrs. Lewis Redlin, Eastedge; Mr. and Mrs. James Hendrickson, Oriska. Little Connie was a beautiful child, with charm in every action. She carried the atmosphere of Heaven about her, causing people to remark, "She is so fairy-like; she doesn't seem to belong on earth."
