Botkin, departed this life February 26th aged 37 years 7 months 5 days. She leaves a husband and 3 children, one an infant of only three months and her father, mother and three sisters (& brothers) to mourn her loss. She was a devoted wife and mother, and a kind and loving neighbor, doing all she could for others when or where her help was needed. She was a member of the Brethren church and was a consistent member and an amiable christian. Her funeral was conducted by the Rev John Hess of Sangersville, assisted by Rev. Josiah Beverage, after which she was laid in the family burying ground followed by a large concourse; of relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed both in the home and community, but our loss is her eternal gain. Highland Recorder March 8, 1912 DOE HILL NEWS: There has been a great deal of sickness, and several deaths in adjoining neighborhoods. The home of Robt. T. Botkin has been sadly afflicted. A month or more ago his infant child was near death's door with pneumonia, and had not recovered from it until an abscess formed on his neck. Before he was well, another child, a son, about twelve years old, was taken with the same dread disease, pneumonia, and before he had entirely recovered the mother, worn out by nursing her loved ones, succumbed to the disease, resulting in her death last Monday morning, Feb. 26th. She was a daughter of Mr. John A. Botkin, of Palo Alto, and was a kind wife, devoted mother, and was beloved in the community in which she lived, for her many sterling qualities. She had been a consistent christian for a number of years, being at the time of her death, if we mistake not, a member of the Church of the Brethren. She leaves to mourn their loss a husband and three little boys, a father and mother, brothers and sisters and other relatives, who have our sincere sympathy.
