Description	:	Cora Ilene Hale Terry Clifton, 95, of Meadows of Dan, died Monday, June 16, 2008, at her home. She was born in Floyd County on March 10, 1913, the 12th of 16 children of George W. and Emma Turner Hale. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, William Hugh Terry and Arzie E. Clifton; two sons, James Lee Terry and Elder William Hale Terry; a granddaughter; one step-grandson; two great-granddaughters; six sisters, Madeline Hale, Flora Williams, Annie Thompson, Attaway Blackwell, Elva Dickerson and Glada Bowers; and eight brothers, Roy, Bill, Irvin, Herbert, Vernon, Versal, Bernice and Jesse... Read More	Cora Ilene Hale Terry Clifton, 95, of Meadows of Dan, died Monday, June 16, 2008, at her home. She was born in Floyd County on March 10, 1913, the 12th of 16 children of George W. and Emma Turner Hale. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, William Hugh Terry and Arzie E. Clifton; two sons, James Lee Terry and Elder William Hale Terry; a granddaughter; one step-grandson; two great-granddaughters; six sisters, Madeline Hale, Flora Williams, Annie Thompson, Attaway Blackwell, Elva Dickerson and Glada Bowers; and eight brothers, Roy, Bill, Irvin, Herbert, Vernon, Versal, Bernice and Jesse Hale. She was a longtime member of New Bell Spur Primitive Baptist Church where she served as clerk for 41 years. Surviving are two sons, Elder Alan Terry of Floyd and Tommy Terry of Woodlawn; three daughters, Marie Bowman of Meadows of Dan, Ruthy Hall of Hillsville and Janie Largen of Dugspur; a brother, Warren G. Hale of Roanoke; three stepchildren, Shelby Cochran, David Clifton and Linda Chilton; 22 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren one step-great-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the New Bell Spur Primitive Baptist Church with Elders Larry Hollandsworth, Carl Terry, Mark Terry and Tim McGrady and the Rev. Russell Payne officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, and other times at the home.
