| Description | : | Herbert A. Hale, 95, of Salem, went to be with the Lord and join his other loved ones on Friday, March 15, 2002. He was predeceased by his wife, Beatrice K. Hale and a son, William R. Hale, whose wife, Virginia Hale survives. Mr. Hale was a member of North Roanoke Baptist Church. He retired after 34 years service as a correctional officer for the state of New Jersey. Surviving are a son, Frederick B.
