Description	:	Mrs. Cora Grooms Mrs. Cora Stella Grooms passed away at the Sandhills General Hospital in Valentine August 12, 1969 at the age of 87 years. Services were conducted Aug. 15, 1969, at 11:00 a.m. at the Valentine Methodist Church with Rev. Lee Hicks officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Hope Cemetery of Valentine. Cora Stella Ogle was born in Missouri, on April 14, 1882, and at the age of four moved with her parents to the Sparks Community, coming by way of covered wagon, and settling there. She met John Grooms in this community and in 1908 they were married in Valentine. To this union five children were born. In 1943 John and Cora moved to Valentine and retire there. In 1951 John passed away. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, a son Dewey, and three brothers Bill, and Dick, and Charley Ogle. Her survivors include: sons Clarence and Darrel of Valentine; daughters Mrs. Mary Huew of Denver, Mrs. Inez Zentzes of Los Angeles, and Mrs. Zella Warren of Payson, Utah; many grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Fred (Clara) Copeland of Valentine; and a host of friends. Cora was a member of the Valentine Methodist Church. She was a person who cared for her neighbors as for herself.
