Description	:	Corinne Mae (DeSoto) Gerk, 90, of Sterling passed away Friday, September 28, 2018 in Sterling. Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 4 from 1 to 5 pm and private family visitation from 5:00 - 6:30 pm at Tennant Funeral Home with Vigil and Rosary service following at 7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am Friday, Oct. 5 at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, Iliff. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Read More	Corinne Mae (DeSoto) Gerk, 90, of Sterling passed away Friday, September 28, 2018 in Sterling. Corinne was born May 2, 1928 in Sterling, Colorado to Domenic and Frances DeSoto. She was raised in the Iliff and Sterling communities and graduated from Iliff high school in 1946. On June 5, 1948, she married the love of her life, Joe Gerk, in Iliff, Colorado. They were married for 55 years until Joe’s death in 2003. Corinne was very active in the Iliff community in her church and various organizations. She moved to Sterling in 2006 where she loved to socialize and entertain family and friends. She was an avid Rockies fan, loved crossword puzzles, cooking and baking, and spending time with her family. Trips to Las Vegas and Blackhawk were a highlight. She was blessed with an incredible faith which she shared with many. Survivors include sons Ken (Peggy) Gerk, Jim (Mary) Gerk, Chas (Debbie) Gerk, Geoff (Peggy) Gerk, and Rich (Dena) Gerk, daughter Peggy (Jim) Lueck and her brother Don (Loretta) DeSoto, grandchildren Beth, Kelly (Jason), Kendra (Alex), Nick (Sarah), Alison (Dylan), Paul (Erica), Adam (Edie), Matthew, Tony (Lauren), Andy (Lauren), Ashley (Nick), Tyler, Sam (Parker), Mitch, Jake, Megan, Joey, Michael, and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe, son Dewey, parents Domenic and Frances DeSoto, sisters Marge Mansuetti and Theresa Wilson, brother Ernie DeSoto, and several brothers and sisters in law. In lieu of flowers her family request donations to Corinne Gerk Memorial to be used at Devonshire Acres and St. Catherine of Siena church c/o Tennant Funeral Home PO Box 1547, Sterling, CO 80751.
