She was born May 12, 1923, in Albia to James Martin and Rose Mae Barnes Crowder. She married Kenneth King in the summer of 1941. He was killed in World War II in 1944. She married Harold A. She was a member of Jubilee Bible Church. Surviving are a son, Steven P.(Camilla)Crumes of Ottumwa; a daughter, Linda L.(R. Dan)Luke of Ottumwa; four grandchildren, Cody L. and Andrew S. Crumes, Christopher S. and Joel R. Luke and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Emma and Henry Barnes, who helped raise her; two brothers, George and Dallas Crowder; three sisters, Opal Pate, Lucille Hamersley Dunham and Margaret E. Hughes. Funeral services will be 10:30am Thursday at Reece Funeral Home with Pstro Randy Saylor officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11am Wednesday at the funeral home with the family present from 5-7pm Wednesday. Memorials may be made to Jubilee Bible Church or Hospice, Ottumwa, Iowa.
