Description	:	Mrs. Cornelia G. Martin was born in New York state December 4, 1840. She was married to D.M. Martin, September 16, 1858. Five children were born to them, of whom one is living, the youngest, Frank. Two children were buried in Iowa, where they formerly resided, and the other two are buried in the Fairmont cemetery. She had been a great sufferer for years, but was generally... Read More	Mrs. Cornelia G. Martin was born in New York state December 4, 1840. She was married to D.M. Martin, September 16, 1858. Five children were born to them, of whom one is living, the youngest, Frank. Two children were buried in Iowa, where they formerly resided, and the other two are buried in the Fairmont cemetery. Mother Martin died December 6, 1900, about 7 p.m. She had been about her work as usual during the day and without much warning was taken away. She had been a great sufferer for years, but was generally able to attend to home duties. Mr. Martin and family have lived in or near Fairmont about twenty-five years and have many friends. Mrs. Martin was converted and joined the M.E. church when but a child of eleven years, and all these years she has been living for Heaven. She has not been able to attend public worship for nearly eight years, but at home, she served her Master as best she could. Only a few weeks before her death, she told her pastor she was ready to go to her reward anytime, and she felt she might be called any moment. The funeral was held at the M.E. Church--the sermon being preached by her pastor--Saturday, December 8, at 2 o'clock p.m. A large congregation of friends and sympathizers was in attendance. Many beautiful floral offerings were laid upon her casket. She has entered into her rest, and her labors will follow her. All the friends sympathize with Mr. Martin and son and family. George M.
