Description	:	Cornelius DEJONG Cornelius De Jong. 7S, died July 16 at the Pleasant Park nursing home. Oskaloosa. Funeral services were held July 19 at the Leighton Christian Reformed church, Leighton with the Rev. Harold Bossenbroek officiating. Organist was James Van Englehoven and the congregation joined in singing a hymn. Casket bearers were Howard Bogaards, Ray Klyn, Warren Witzenburg, Leroy Blom, Francis De Jong and Carl De Jong. Burial was in the Black Oak cemetery, Mahaska county. Cornelius De Jong was born Apr. 5, 1898 near Leighton, the son of the Antone De Jong. He owned and operated a service station near Leighton for 40 years. Surviving are : two brothers, Albert, Pella, and Tony, Leighton; five sisters. Margaret, Mrs. W.A. Bogaards; Tena, Mrs. Lewis Ozinga; Grace, Mrs. Arnold Witzenburg; Gertrude, Mrs. William De Kock; and Ann, Mrs. Bert Hoksbergen, all of Pella.
