He came to the United States in 1863 and in November 1865 was married to Catherine Frinan of Cincinnati, Oh. Seven children were born to them, of whom four are living. They are Frank H. Callahan of Denhoff, N.D., Mrs. Mamie Baxter, Miss Jennie Callahan, James A. Callahan. Mr. Callahan was a pioneer in Union County, having lived here about thirty-seven years."
