Read More	Corrie M Peregrine The community was deeply saddened when the word was flashed back to Corning that Corrie M. Peregrine, who was born and spent most of the years of his life in Adams County, had died suddenly Saturday night, January 28. the details of his death have been disclosed to his friends by his family, who brought the body back to his boyhood home from Milwaukee, where the family have resided since 1929. Mr. Peregrine had been afflicted with a slight heart trouble for the past few years, but his condition was not considered serious. He was returning from his work Saturday night, and felling ill, called a cab. He was just able to stagger into the house and died in a very few moments. Short funeral services were held in Milwaukee Monday afternoon and the body was brought to Corning. Services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Christian Church with Rev. Arthur M. Earlman in charge of the services. Interment was made in the methodist Grove Cemetery in Brooks. It is difficult for the writer to frame a formal obituary, as memory brings pictures of this man who was so ready to share his talents with those about him and to service his community on any and all occasions. Never did I hear him turn down a request to play and many times he has furnished number after number on a moments time to fill in delays or as a substitute, in addition to his own numbers. The radio gave him many opportunities to extend his usefulness and this service he enjoyed to the fullest. Corrie M. Peregrine, son of Dr and Mrs. J. S. Peregrine, was born in Brooks, Iowa, October 1, 1877, and died January 28, 1933, at his home in Milwaukee, at the age of 55 years, 3 months, and 27 days. He is survived by his devoted wife, three children, Paul, Doris, and Phillip; his daughter-in-law, Marguerite Peregrine, and a grandson, Richard, to whom he was greatly devoted, one half brother, Carl of Prescott, and many other relatives and a host of friends. Friends whom he attracted in every place in which he lived. His parents and a brother, Charles E. preceded him in death many years ago, his mother having died when he was a small boy. Mr. Peregrine had spent most of his life in Adams County, a life which had been largely devoted to sharing a wonderful musical ability with the community in which he lived, along with his business of selling and tuning pianos. In 1979, the family moved to Milwaukee, and this gave him a much larger opportunity to enjoy the musical life which he craved and he enjoyed these privileges to the fullest. He was a gentle, happy, nature, whose wealth was friendships and whose happiness was in making others happy, He was united with the Church of Christ when a small boy and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Those who were here from a distance to attend the funeral were, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Nord and two children from Atlantic, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hopkins and son, Kenneth and their daughter, Mrs. Welder of Massena; Charlie Johns of Afton, Sanford Johns of Atlantic, and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Peregrine from Prescott.
