Description	:	Cort Vaughn Rites Held Wednesday An illness of several weeks took the life of Cort Vaughn, 78, well known Miller and Hand County resident, who died Sunday at Memorial Hospital. Mr. Vaughn had become ill while he and Mrs. Vaughn were turning (sic) from spending the winter in Mesa, Ariz., and he had been hospitalized since that time. Interment was made in the GAR Cemetery, with graveside rites conducted by the Wessington American Legion Post and Masonic Lodge. Visitation hours were Tuesday afternoon and evening at the Reck Funeral Home which had charge of the arrangements. Active pallbearers were Mack Jones, Marsh Johnson, Vern Hill, Carl Sisk, Edwin Rowen and John McInnis. In an honorary capacity were J. C. Jones, Earl Houck, Ray Magness, Clark White, Stewart Bottum, Adelbert Major, Frank Lockner, Sr., Lewis Borkhuis, Carl Wright, Paul Robinson, Ed Bertsch, Richard Moeller, and all members of the Blue Grass Barracks. Mr. Vaughn was born January 17, 1895, in Livingston, Tenn., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee Vaughn. He came to Hand County in March 1916, and was engaged in farming and ranching until his retirement in 1960, when he and his wife moved to Miller to make their home. He was married to Martha Hutchinson of Wessington on July 22, 1924, in the congregational Church in Huron.
