Description	:	Harriet Martha Vaughn, 92, died Saturday, March 29, 1997, at Prairie Good Samaritan Center in Miller, S.D. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 3, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Miller with the Rev. Michael McCallum officiating. Burial will be in the G.A.R. Cemetery, Miller. Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon and evening at Reck Funeral Home in Miller. A prayer service will be held Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Harriet Martha Hutchinson was born February 19, 1905 to Hiram Chester and Hattie Mary (McNair) Hutchinson near Wessington, S.D., in Hulbert Township. She graduated from Wessington High School in 1924 and Married Cortes Vaughn on July 22, 1924. They farmed in Grand Township until they retired and moved to Miller in 1960. Cort died in 1973. She was an active member of the Presbyterian Church, Order of Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary, P.E.O., WWI Vets, PTA and bridge clubs. She loved traveling, crocheting and especially visiting with friends and family. She believed that her faith in God saw her through life's hardships. Survivors include her four children, Robert (Mary Alice) of St. Lawrence, Gladine McGirr of Highmore, Vincent of Fairmont, Minn., Joan (Phil) Gross of Ross, Calif.; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald Hutchinson of Miller; two sisters, Jean Luschen of Martinez, Calif., Julia (Orville) Schwartz of Central Point, Ore. She was preceded in death by her husband, six sisters and three brothers. Pallbearers will be Douglas Balvin, Roger Gravelle, Dale Duxbury, Vern Hill, Clair Bonebright and Edwin Rowen.
