(Edgar C. Bruck held the rank of ) Private (beginning on) 10 Dec. 1917 (and of) Temporary Corporal (commencing on) 4 Sept. 1918. CPL. Edgar C. Bruck served with the) American Expeditionary Forces (in France from) 11 Jan. 1918 to 12 Feb. 1919." * * * * * U.S. Army corporal Edgar C. Bruck died at the age of twenty-six on February 13, 1919, in France, either of war wounds or illness, and was buried immediately in French soil. After his body's exhumation and transfer from France to Ohio during January 1921, his body was interred at Hamilton's Greenwood Cemetery on January 23, 1921, in Section U, Lot 244, Grave 01, "original interment #18959, owner: Bruck, Edgar C. & Amelia".
