Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Westfork United Methodist Church in rural Dougherty with the Rev. Lora Smith officiating. Interment will be in Westfork Cemetery in rural Dougherty. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf-Grarup Funeral Home in Sheffield. Curtis Allen Moore was born on Jan 31, 1902, in Westfork Township, Franklin County, to Perry and Linnie Richard Moore. Curtis attended rural schools and married Valma A. Moore on Dec. 24, 1928, in Charles City. The couple lived and farmed in Westfork Township all of their married life. In 1979 Curtis retired and they moved to Hampton. Curtis was a member of Westfork United Methodist Church where he was an active member. He was on the Dougherty and Sheffield Creamery Boards as well as a member of the Farm Bureau Board of Franklin County. Curtis enjoyed gardening, farming, bird watching and people. Curtis had a quiet sense of humor and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. Survivors include his children, Lois Gauley of Hampton, Robert Moore and his wife, Nancy, of Alexander, and Bonnie DeVries and her husband, Kenneth, of Hampton; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Curtis was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Valma, on Sept. 22, 1995; one sister, Leah; three brothers, Ray, William and Ralph; and one grandson, Roger.
