Description	:	Valley Falls Vindicator, 2 August 1939 OBITUARY – FERRELL William Curtis Ferrell, the son of Isaac Ferrell and Elizabeth Mildred Marsh-Ferrell, was born April 1, 1870 on the Ferrell homestead in Jackson County where he grew to manhood, and was married to Hattie Van Gaasbeck, December 15, 1895, at the home of the officiating minister, Rev. Read More	Valley Falls Vindicator, 2 August 1939 OBITUARY – FERRELL William Curtis Ferrell, the son of Isaac Ferrell and Elizabeth Mildred Marsh-Ferrell, was born April 1, 1870 on the Ferrell homestead in Jackson County where he grew to manhood, and was married to Hattie Van Gaasbeck, December 15, 1895, at the home of the officiating minister, Rev. W. Z. Hubbard, in Arrington, Kansas. To them were born two daughters, Dora Mildred Baumgart and Eva Viola Ford. After living 12 years in Jackson County they moved to the old Frank Van Gaasbeck homestead near Valley Falls, which has been their home ever since. He was a charger member of the North Cedar Grange, receiving the Silver Certificate of a 25 year member in 1937. He suffered a sunstroke near the close of the World War which left him with a heart effection from which he never fully recovered. He was confined to his home for nearly 6 months and passed away in the company of his family and brothers and sisters Saturday afternoon, July 29, 1939. Surviving, besides his immediate family are four grandchildren, Wanda Alene, Daryl Merlin and Lyndall Courtney Ford and Neva Ruth Baumgart; three sisters: Izora Thompson, Roxalana Bell of Valley Falls, and Mary Stalons of Topeka; three brothers, George Albert (Dick) of Guthrie, Okla., Larkin F. of Valley Falls, and John T. of Denison; and many relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist church in Valley Falls Monday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock by Rev. Sam Hedrick. Burial was in the Rose Hill cemetery.
