FRANK EDWARDS Cynthia Josephine Pierschbacher, daughter of Michael and Angeline Pierschbacher, was born November 28, 1868, in Illinois and passed to the great beyond early in the morning of June 4, 1942, at the age of 73 years, 6 months and 6 days, at the Yocom hospital in Chariton, following a major operation. When one year of age she came to Lucas county, Iowa with her parents and since that time her life has been spent in the Belinda and Williamson neighborhoods. As a girl in her teens she confessed her faith in Jesus Christ and united with the Belinda Church of Christ, of which she has remained a loyal and faithful member throughout her life. Her kind and sweet disposition and generous love for others was a real example of Christian living and has endeared her to all who came in contact with her, whether relatives or friends. On January 9, 1890, she was united in marriage to Joseph Franklin Edwards, who survives her. Together they celebrated the 52nd anniversary of their marriage this past January. To this union 12 children were born. Ten survive her and all were present at her bedside. One son, Harry, died in infancy, and another son, William, passed away December 7, 1922, at the age of 25 years. Those left to mourn her passing in addition to her bereaved husband are the children: Ora Edwards, Robert Edwards and Mrs. Blanche Gray of Chariton; Mrs. Sylvia Bingham and Leroy Edwards of English township; Elmer Edwards of Columbia; Mrs. Fern Foote and Cleo Edwards of Des Moines; Donald Edwards of Racine, Wis.; and Nina Edwards of Lincoln, Nebr.; also one brother, George Pierschbacher of English township; 40 grandchildren and 34 great gandchilren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Two brothers and one sister have preceded her in death. She was devoted to her home and family. Her motto throughout life has been "Smile, Smile, Smile, and the World will smile back." And what will it matter; By and By. If the skies are blue or gray? What will it matter; By and By. Largely attended funeral services, conducted by Rev. Warner Hile of Perry, Iowa, were held at the Belinda Church of Christ, Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock and burial was in the Zion cemetery in Pleasant township. Six of her nephews, Connell, Dwight, Stuart, Enos, Henry and John Pierschbacher, served as pall bearers.
