He enlisted October 30, 1861, at age 44, and mustered in on November 27th. He was discharged disabled on October 10, 1862, at Washington, D.C. Three of his sons, Samuel S., Ai T., and Joseph C. also served in Company A, 6th NH Volunteers. Ai enlisted on July 21, 1862, at age 18; was wounded December 13, 1862, at Fredericksburg, Virginia, and died of disease at Covington, Kentucky, on... Note: There is a Pvt Joseph C Plaisted in Company A, 6th NH Infantry (wonder if he might be the Clark I cannot find (Joseph Clark Plaisted?) and there is a Samuel S Plaisted also in Company A, 6th NH Infantry who is not seen again after enslisting. Just a supposition on Joseph Clark Plaisted being Clark Plaisted, and Samuel S Plaisted being Samuel D Plaisted.
