Description	:	inscription: Enlisted in Co. H 12 MO Cav Vol., Dec 16, 1863, Discharged Apr 9, 1866 Obit: Another one of our old settlers and esteemed citizens has passed away in the person of Cyrus H. Francis. He was born July 27, 1825 in Burlington, Lawrence county, Ohio, residing there until he was about twenty-nine years of age. He was married to Miss Harriet Williams in 1853, to which union were born eight children, seven of whom survive him. He was born July 27, 1825 in Burlington, Lawrence county, Ohio, residing there until he was about twenty-nine years of age. He was married to Miss Harriet Williams in 1853, to which union were born eight children, seven of whom survive him. He left Ohio in 1856 and moved to Harrison County, Missouri, where he resided about twenty-five years and then moved to Logan township, Smith county. He was a soldier in the civil war two years and five months. Died at his home, Oct. 8, 1906, at four o'clock, aged 81 years, 2 months and 12 days. He died of Bright's disease and suffered over two years without a murmur. He left an aged wife, a brother and six children whom, with a host of friends, were with him when he died. The funeral was preached Oct. 10, by Rev. Hummel and the remains were laid to rest in the Mt. Hope cemetery. source: The Lebanon Times, Oct. 18, 1906
