Mr. Wallace, who was born and grew to manhood on a farm near Weldon, had made his home in Oregon for a number of years. Smith, pastor of the First Methodist church, conducted the funeral services today in the Miller Funeral Home. Burial was in the Hebron cemetery. "Dace Donald Wallace" "Dace Donald Wallace, son of Frank and Siddie Wallace, was born in Clarke county, Iowa on a farm near Weldon, December 22, 1899, and departed this life at a hospital in Salem, Oregon, September 15, 1959, at the age of 59 years, 8 months, and 24 days. He was the 6th child in a family of seven children. His father, mother, three brothers, and two sisters having preceded him in death. He grew to manhood at the place of his birth, attending district school at Hebron; also attending church and Sunday School at the Hebron church. In the year 1927, he was united in marriage to Aletha Wilkinson of Weldon, Iowa. To this union two sons and a daughter were born. Sometime after their marriage, they moved to Turner, Oregon, where they resided on a farm for several years. Some years later his health failed, and in the year 1953, he entered a hospital at Salem, Oregon, where he was a patient for many months. His many years of suffering were endured with great patience and fortitude. He was cheerful, always looking forward with the hope of a brighter tomorrow. He was a good citizen. His honesty was beyond reproach. He was interested in sports and also was a great lover of horses. He leaves to mourn their loss, his wife, his sons, Olan and Darrel, and his daughter, Veneta; four grandchildren; one sister, Ada Wallace, and an uncle, Fred E. Wallace, both of Weldon; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 22, at the Miller Funeral Home, with Rev. Azel L. Smith, pastor of the First Methodist church, officiating. Music was by Edna Meecham and Ina Pearcy, accompanied by Diana Wade. Pallbearers were Fred Chambers, Ashton Jamison, Bob Wallace, Forrest Wallace, Mervin Wallace and Kermit Wallace. Burial was in the Hebron cemetery." Bio submitted by L. Ann Bowler
