"Mrs. Siddie Wallace" "Sidney Florence Wallace, the youngest child of Oliver and Sarah Coffman, was born at Highland Center, Iowa, August 12, 1866, and passed away at her home in Weldon, Iowa, Nov. 27, 1949. She spent her girlhood days in Wapello and Clarke counties. She was united in marriage to Frank C. Wallace, March 3, 1887. To this union seven children were born--Lloyd M., Ada C. and Leland S. of Weldon, Dace D. of Turner, Oregon. Her husband and three children preceded her in death, Frankie E., Mable Alice, and Consula S. She leaves to mourn her death four children, eight grandchildren and many friends. Mrs. Wallace loved her home and expecially her children. She believed in the Christian religion. Her daily life was an inspiration, not only to the members of her family, but to all who came within the radius of her influence. The deceased found time, when in the enjoyment of good health, to be in sympathy with any cause she thought would benefit humanity. By precept and example she exemplified the Golden Rule. Life to her was merely the preparation for the one to be spent with the creator of all that is good. She will be missed in the community in which she lived for so many years. Thus life's fitful dream is o'er, and when the Mum of time is asked to name the truest friend of all, he will write across the clear blue sky--'Mother.' Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Miller Funeral home with the Reb. Richard Beving officiation. Burial was in Hebron cemetery. She always learned to watch for us Anxious if we were late In winter by the window, In summer by the gate' And though we mocked her tenderly, We had such foolish care, The long way home would seem more safe Because she waited there. Her thoughts were all so full of us She never could forget And so I think that where she is She must be watching yet. Waiting till we come home to her Anxious if we are late-- Watching from Heaven's window Leaning from Heaven's gate."
