"Mabel Olive Wallace was born near Weldon, in Clarke county, Iowa, June 16, 1904, and departed this life after a lingering illness at the Decatur County Hospital, Oct. 13, 1939, at the age of 35 years, 4 months and 27 days. She was the youngest child of Frank C. and Siddie F. Wallace, and grew to maturity at the place of her birth, attending school at the Hebron school and Sunday school and church at the Hebron church. It was at this church, in early life that Mabel made the Good Confession under the ministry of Rev. Larrick, and lived a noble christian life until her departure. She was employed as a secretary at Shenandoan, Iowa, for some time before her marriage to Clarence O. Chambers, on May 23, 1932. To this union two children were born Fred Wallace and Robert Keith who died in infancy. She leaves to mourn her early passing her devoted husband, one son, an aged mother, four brothers; Lloyd M. and Leland S. of Weldon, Iowa, Frankie E. of Oaseola, Dace D. of Salem Oregon, and one sister, Ada C. of Weldon. Her father and an infant sister, Consula preceded her in death. Mabel was a woman of splendid character, a loving wife, a true mother, a most loyal friend and while her life on earth was short she left memories which will remain with us and grow sweeter as the years go by. Funeral services were held in the Methodist church in Weldon, Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Oct. 15, 1939, conducted by her pastor, Mrs. Myrtle Wolfe-Cox., Mr. Stewart of Leon, was in charge. Interment was in Hebron cemetery." **** Card of Thanks--We wish to express our sincere thanks to our many friends for the kindness and help shown us during the illness and death of our beloved wife and mother.
