He passed away Monday, October 25, 2010, at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa, at the age of seventy-five. Dale was born on the family farm near Schleswig, Iowa, and received his education at a rural school near his home. Read More	Dale Eugene Jensen was born August 12, 1935, the son of Walter B. and Laverna Hansen Jensen. He passed away Monday, October 25, 2010, at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa, at the age of seventy-five. Dale was born on the family farm near Schleswig, Iowa, and received his education at a rural school near his home. He was baptized in Christ on September 15, 1935, and confirmed on April 2, 1950, at the United Church of Christ in Schleswig. At the age of 13, after his father died, he took on many of the farming responsibilities and continued farming until he retired in 1986. He also served in the Iowa National Guard from 1954 to 1960 and then continued with the Army Reserves until 1963. On August 2, 1963, he was united in marriage to Patricia Miller at the United Church of Christ in Schleswig by Rev. Walter Baumgartner. The couple and their daughter, Lisa, made their home on the family farm. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his grandkids and getting together with family and friends. He often socialized over coffee with "the boys." Favorite activities included fishing, golfing, bowling and traveling. One especially memorable trip was going on a cruise to Alaska. He enjoyed watching TV, including game shows, a variety of older films, mystery movies and reruns. After moving to town in 1986, he drove school bus and was ground's keeper at the golf course. He was a member of the United Church of Christ in Schleswig, the Schleswig Community Club and the Schleswig Country Club. Dale was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Pat; one daughter, Lisa and her husband, Gary; three grandchildren: Brandon, Megan, and Mary Kaitlyn; one brother, Dennis and his wife, Karen; nieces and nephew, Lori (Doug), Becky (Bob), Jenny (Mark) and Jason (Holly); other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 28, 2010, at the United Church of Christ in Schleswig, Iowa. Rev. Chris Burtnett officiated the service and graveside rites at Morgan Cemetery in Schleswig. Organist Wendy Bumann provided accompaniment for hymns, "What A Friend We Have In Jesus," "Here I Am, Lord" and "Lift High The Cross." Honorary pallbearers were Brandon Anderson, Megan Anderson and Mary Kaitlyn Anderson. Serving as pallbearers were K.Darrell Miller, Keith Petersen, Bob Andresen, Darryl Petersen, Richard Hanlin and John Bogacz.
