Description	:	Dale Flux was 83 when he passed away. He was known by all, was the 2nd born to Bert&Zola Flux in Modesto CA. When still very young, Dale and his family along with his grandparents, one aunt and 2 uncles left the family farm and moved to a ranch in Lassen County, located between Milford and Doyle. When still very young, Dale and his family along with his grandparents, one aunt and 2 uncles left the family farm and moved to a ranch in Lassen County, located between Milford and Doyle. Dale's parents later moved their family to a farm near Salem Ore. Dale graduated from school in Dalles, Ore in 1947, he returned to Lassen County to work on the ranch for his Uncle Frank Flux. One year later he married a native Lassen County girl, Janice Long. After working on different ranches out of the Lassen area, Dale and Janice with 4 kids in tow, made their way back to Lassen county in 1957 to a ranch in Doyle. They worked there for the next 8 years on a lease/management agreement. In 1965, they bought their present home and ranch in Janesville where they have been for the last 45 years. Dale was known for his tireless contributions to the community and agriculture. He served more than 30 years with 4-H youth group activities as a project leader, he devoted endless hours and years to the Lassen County Fair Jr. Livestock Auction. Dale held membership in the Lassen Sheriffs Posse, Farm Bureau, as a fair director, ASCS Board, Milford Range Assoc., Lassen Taxpayers Assoc., and Cattlemen's Associations for county,state and national levels. He also was a member of the Hide and Brand Committee; Executive Committee for the Calif. Cattlemen's as well as devoting many years to the Lassen Co. Jr. rodeo. One of Dales largest accomplihsments, which cannot be overlooked, was his timeless effort he put to starting up and running the Cattlemen's Feeder Cattle Sale. He was instrumental in the construction of permanent buildings and corrals for the sale-part of which are still standing at the north arena of the fairgrounds. In 1981 Dale was honored by the Cattlemen's Assoc. as the first named Cattlemen of the Year in recognition of his outstanding efforts and support of the cattle industry and community. Dale is survived by his wife Janice of 62 years: his children, Judy Somerville (Tom McClelland) of Janesville: Ruth Mallery(Wilson) of Susanville: Tom Flux(Vicki)of Janesville: Cheri Blosser (Hugh) of Janesville: 10 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Dale loved his ranching life and appreciated all it brought to him. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
