Read More	OLDEST RESIDENT OF THIS COUNTY CALLED BY DEATH Rites Held Monday In Sioux City For Dale Hunter Plymouth county lost its oldest resident in point of continuous residence and probably in length of years, Hale Hunter, last Friday, morning, July 12, in a Sioux city ursing home after a year's illness, at the advanced age of 96 years, 2 months and 2 days. Dale Hunter was born May 10, 1867, at St. Peter, Minn., and at the age of six months came with his parents, William and Amelia Hunter, to southwest Plymouth county, Sioux township, where they engaged in farming and stock raising and Dale continued to make his home there the remainder of his life. He attended high school in Sioux City; taught school briefly in neighboring parts of the Dakota territory and Iowa; studied law with a Sioux City law office, and was admitted to the Iowa bar in 1889. He was active in the Republican party. He married Evelyn Glann on October 3, 1894, at Le Mars. She preceded him in death. Survivors include three daughters Mrs. D. L. Lindburg and Mrs. H. L. Cooper, both of Escondido, Cal., and Mrs. Blanche Roush of Westfield; four grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Nelson-Berger north side funeral home Sioux City, Rev. LuVerne W. Clark of First Presbyterian church, officiating. Pallbearers were A. C. Banks, J. F. Dennison, C. A. Knapp, W. E. Lilly, J. D. Tracy Knapp, W. E. Lilly, J. D. Tracy and J. T. Curran. Interment was in Logan Park cemetery. Akron Register Tribune Thursday, July 18, 1963 Akron, Iowa
