DALE HUNTER SUMMONED FRIDAY Had Been Resident of Plymouth County for Past Fifty-one Years The many relatives and friends deeply mourn the passing of Mrs. Evelyn Glann Hunter, age 59, a resident of Plymouth county for the past fifty-one years. Her death occurred Friday afternoon, August 19, 1932, at her home, south of Westfield, following an illness of two years. She was born in Hinkley, Illnois, on May 28, 1873, and moved to Plymouth county, Iowa, with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James F. Glann, in 1881. She attended grade school in Le Mars and was graduated from Le Mars Normal College. She taught school in Plymouth county for several years prior to her marriage to Dale Hunter, of Westfield, Iowa, on October 3, 1894. To this union was born four daughters and two sons all of whom survive except one sone Brice who preceded his mother in death by one year. The survivors include her husband, four daughters, Miss Nettie Hunter, of Westfield, Ia.; Mrs. D. L. Lindborg, of Des Moines, Ia.; Mrs. H. L. Cooper, of Sioux City, Ia.; Mrs. L. E. Brown, of Cedar Rapids, Ia.; one son, Vance, of Westfield; three brothers, Dr. F. W. Glann, of Climbing Hill, Ia., Dr. R. C. Glann, of Bronson, Ia., and Dr. Arthur Glann, of Colo, Ia., and five grandchildren. Mrs. Hunter took an active part in all functions of the community. She was a loving and devoted wife and spent her life in service for her friends and loved ones. She was a member of Vesper chapter, No. 61, O. E. S., of Akron, Iowa. A short prayer service was held at the house Monday afternoon for the relatives and close friends followed by the public service at the First Presbyterian church, Sioux City, at 2 o'clock, Rev. H. J. Fidlay officiating and Mr. Berger, of the Nelson & Berger funeral home directing. The pallbearers were six nephews of the deceased--Royce and Lloyd Hunter, Earl, Kenneth Ray and George Glann. During the church service Harold Decker, of Sioux City, sang beautifully, "Goin Home" and "The City Four Square." Burial was in Logan Park cemetery. The impressive service of the O. E. S. was used at the grave conducted by president and past officers of Vesper chapter, No. 61, Akron, Ia. Mrs. Carolyn Kerr, Past Grand Martha of the O. E. S. of Iowa, officiated assisted by Lewis Bly a Past Worthy Patron of Vesper chapter; Mrs. Ella Burrill, the present Worthy Matron and others. Over Saturday and Sunday hundreds of relatives and friends called at the home to pay their respects to the family and tender their sympathy. Many beautiful floral offerings were received and both the house and church were profusely decorated with them, a taken of the high esteem and fond regard in which the deceaased was held by all who knew her.
