Barrett served in the U. S. Army in Germany in World War 11. He is survived by his wife, Wanda; two daughter, Mrs. Richard (Sandra) Jensen of Salina, Kansas, and Mrs. Edward (Bonnie) Pfeiffer of Syracuse; two sons, Dale A. Barrett of Beatrice and Jerry Barrett of Nebraska City, Nebraska, and nine grandchildren. Barrett is also survived by six brother, Norman, Bernard, and Hiley Barrett of Nebraska City, Nebraska, Delbert Barrett of Fremont, Nebraska, Donald Barrett of Salinas, California, and Eldon Barrett of Syracuse, Nebraska, and four sisters, Mrs. Paul (Thelma) Womach, Mrs. William (Virginia) Shallenberger, and Katherine Olney, all of Nebraska City, Nebraska, and Betty Herold of Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
