Description	:	Dale Stratton Kness was born to Oliver O. and Lutie Maranello Kness on July 26, 1928, at Fairmont, and passed away April 25, 2017, at home in Apache Junction, Ariz., at the age of 88 years, eight months and 30 days. He was one of six children in the family. Dale was married to Germaine LaJoie of Worcester, Mass., in Council Bluffs, Iowa on March 22, 1950, and to them one child, Ronald was born. Read More	Dale Stratton Kness was born to Oliver O. and Lutie Maranello Kness on July 26, 1928, at Fairmont, and passed away April 25, 2017, at home in Apache Junction, Ariz., at the age of 88 years, eight months and 30 days. He was one of six children in the family. Dale was married to Germaine LaJoie of Worcester, Mass., in Council Bluffs, Iowa on March 22, 1950, and to them one child, Ronald was born. Once married, Dale worked for Trumble Chevrolet as a mechanic for several years.. Later, he operated his own garage in Fairmont, until 1965 when Dale and Germaine purchased a fishing resort in Battle Lake, Minn. Dale's hobbies included playing the omnichord, listening to country western music, gardening and traveling. Dale is preceded in death by his father, Oliver, 1980 and mother, Luti, 1965; both of Fairmont; brothers, Donald, Hutchinson, Kan., 1993, Wilton, Polo, Ill., 2006, Kenneth, Fairmont, 2002 and twin brothers, Gerald and Gaylor, Fairmont, 1917. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Germaine; son Ronald and daughter-in-law, Susan (Walker); one grandchild, Roni Bergerson and husband, Jason of Shakopee, Minn.; and two great-grandsons, Liam and Aidan, also of Shakopee. A graveside service was conducted at the Fairmont Cemetery on May 12, with Pastor Michelle Gowin officiating. There were two recorded songs for the graveside service, and they were "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art." Honorary pallbearers included, Roni (Kness) Bergerson, Jason Bergerson, Liam Bergerson and Aidan Bergerson. Interment was in the Kness family plot at the Fairmont Cemetery.
