Description	:	From Benson County Farmers Press, Dec. 30, 1998, page 12. The funeral for Dan Johnson, 49, of Minot was held Mon. at 10 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Minot. Interment will be in the Leeds Cemetery in the spring. He died at his place of business in Minot Dec. 21, 1998. Rev. Stewart Drake officiated. The Thompson-Larson Funeral Home of Minot was in charge of arrangements. Dan Johnson was born March 1, 1949 in Minot to Chester & LuCille Feldmann Johnson. He was reared & educated in Leeds & graduated from Leeds High School in 1967. He attended the ND State School of Science in Wahpeton & received a degree in computerscience in 1970. He worked for a computer firm in Denver, Colo. for a brief time. From 1972 to 1978 he owned & operated Johnson Trucking & Landscaping in the Rugby & Devils Lake areas. He married JoAnne Moffit Jan. 23, 1981 at the Hope Lutheran Church in Surrey. During the winter months from 1982 to 1990 he drove truck for Systems Transport, Inc. In 1982 they moved to Washburn & began Johnson Landscaping in the Washburn & Minot areas, which provided commercial & residential landscaping throughout the state. In 1996 they relocated to Minot & operated Johnson Landscaping from that city. He was a member of the Devils Lake Elks Lodge, The American Legion at Rugby, The Minot Area Home Builders, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, the Minot Gun Club, the National Rifle Assn., the Association of General Contractor, The Minority Contractors Assn. & the Leeds Lutheran Church. He was an avid hunter & traveled to Colorado to hunt each fall. Survivors include his wife; 2 daughters & a son-in-law, DeeDra & Brad Sturlaugson of Bottineau & Tracy Carlson of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a son, Darrick Johnson of Bismarck; 3 grandchildren; his mother, LuCille Johnson of Leeds; a brother, Dean Johnson of Leeds; & 2 sisters, Candy Jenssen of Conrad, Mont. & Sandra Darling of Glendive, Mont.
