Burial was in the church cemetery. She died April 14, 1999 at the Heartland Care Center in Devils Lake. Pastor Richard Budd officiated. Jeanette Kenner was organist & MiChelle Nybo & John Balkenbush were soloists. Pallbearers were grandchildren Shane Jenssen, Robyn Eberle. The Nelson Funeral Home of Leeds was in charge of arrangements. M. LuCille Johnson was born Dec. 13, 1912 near Kenmare to Jacob W. & Martha (Ceynar) Feldmann. She was raised there & graduated from Kenmare High School in 1931. She attended Bernis Business College in Minot. She worked as a secretary in Minot prior to her marriage to Chester C. Johnson Nov. 9, 1941 in Kenmare. They lived & farmed in Leeds Township near Leeds, retiring in 1977. She was employed by the Farmers Home Administration in Minnewaukan & Rugby for 20 years. They moved into Leeds in 1992. He died April 6, 1995. She was a member of the Leeds Lutheran Church & its WELCA. She taught Sunday school for 11 years & was a 4-H leader. she was secretary of the Leeds/York Farmers Union for 25 years, secretary & treasurer of the Benson County Council, & a member of the Leeds American Legion Auxiliary & Leeds Community Homemakers. Survivors include 2 daughters & sons-in-law, Sandra & Harry Darling of Glendive, Mont. & Candace Jenssen of Conrad, Mont.; a son & daughter-in-law, Dean & Sandra Johnson of Leeds; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a brother, Howard Feldman of Exeter, Calif.; & 2 sisters, Elta Frederickson of Rugby & Marjorie Stroklund of Libby, Mont. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Dan; & 2 brothers, Everett & Vernon Feldman. Supplied by Curtis Yri #48322430
