Rev. Victor Dowgiallo officiated at the Requiem Mass and Rev. A. Scarpati was in the sanctuary. Interment was in the parish cemetery. Wortman, Hubert Worgan, Lester McIntyre, John Duckworth, Edgar Alkire and Otis Cheshire. Flowerbearers were his cousins, John Laughlin Sr., John Laughlin Jr., Charles Laughlin Jr., Andrew Laughlin, William Collins and Thomas Collins. Those who attended from out-of-town were Mr. and Mrs. John Laughlin and family, McKeesport, Pa.; Martin Carey, Jersey City, N. J., and Mrs. Anna Welsh, Cumberland. ‘Duke' as he was familiarly known, was a son of the late Daniel F. and Mary Ann (Carey) Laughlin. He was born 30 May 1900 in Elk Garden, W.Va. He was employed as a welder at the Luke plant and took an active part in the Employees Protective Association, having served on the executive board since its organization. He was a member of Piedmont Council 685, Knights of Columbus. His death resulted from acute sinus and influenza. Though he had been in ill health for some time, he had only been confined to his bed since Wednesday. Surviving are his sister, Miss Anna Laughlin, and five brothers, John Laughlin, McKeesport, Pa.; Andrew Laughlin, Cleveland, Ohio; Thomas, Martin and Charles Laughlin, at home."
