Carmel Sunday Daniel Imhof, 95, a resident of this district since 1870, died at 11 o'clock Sunday morning at the Mt. Carmel hospital, after an illness of seven weeks. He had been a patient at the hospital since Thursday of last week. Born May 29, 1856 in Summerville, Illinois, Mr. Imhof came to Kansas from Illinois in 1870 with his parents, settling on a farm in Cherokee county. He later moved to Crawford county to a farm a mile north of Cherokee where he lived for 10 years before moving to his present home in Cherokee where he had lived the last 49 years. Mr. Imhof was married January 26, 1884 to Margaret Hosten. She died in January of 1950. A membership was held in the Cherokee Methodist church. Survivors include four sons, Deo A. Imhof, Fred Imhof, John S. Imhof, all of Cherokee, and George D. Imhof of Ontario, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Ida McClenahan, Cherokee, Mrs. Gertrude Lallament, Fritch, Texas, and Mrs. Susie Nuckols, Santa Monica, Calif.; 17 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren , one great-great-grandchild and one brother, William Imhof of Columbus. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Cherokee Methodist church with the pastor, Rev. G.M. Pierce officiating. Mrs. O.H. Curry, Mrs. George Wilson and Fred Sturgeon furnished music accompanied by Miss Jessie Loveland. Burial was in the Cherokee cemetery. The body was brought over from the Brenner funeral home on Monday afternoon. Pallbearers were John Darlington, Andrew Bury, Quince Green, Bill Vaughn, Leslie Kimmel and Ernest Craig.
