On Dec. 11, 1689 at Barnstable, Daniel m. Mary Lumbert, dau. of Thomas Lumbert and Elizabeth Derby, b. in Apr. 1671 at Barnstable where she d. Nov. 17, 1744. Daniel was an active participant in Barnstable town affairs, Justice of the Peace, town clerk, and representative from Barnstable to the Mass. General Court. On Dec. 11, 1689 at Barnstable, Daniel m. Mary Lumbert, dau. of Thomas Lumbert and Elizabeth Derby, b. in Apr. 1671 at Barnstable where she d. Nov. 17, 1744. Daniel was an active participant in Barnstable town affairs, Justice of the Peace, town clerk, and representative from Barnstable to the Mass. General Court. He was admitted a member of the West Barnstable Church Feb. 15, 1690 [/91?] and wife Mary was admitted Nov. 12, 1693. They had ten children of record at Barnstable, only some with a corresponding baptism record at the West Barnstable Church. In the Town of Barnstable CD (NEHGS, 2002), Hinckley annotated the original handwritten Barnstable VRs, but some further interpretation of the original record is required: • i. Patience Parker, b. in 1690 (no day or month stated), d. Jan. 13, 1718/9 at Barnstable (g.s.); m. by Jan. 1712 Nathaniel Bacon as the 1st of his 3 wives, s. John Bacon and Mary Hawes, b. of record at Barnstable Jan. 16, 1691/2. Three children of the marriage. • ii. Abigail Parker, b. May 27, 1692, d. bef. Apr. 12, 1760 likely at Woodstock, Conn.; m. 1) by 1716, Jeremiah Bacon, Jr., s. of Jeremiah Bacon and Elizabeth Howes, b. Oct. 2, 1694 at Barnstable where he d. intestate bef. May 3, 1725. Three children of the marriage. Abigail m. 2) by an intent to marry pub. Oct 3, 1731 at Woodstock, Conn. as his 2nd wife, Eliphalet Carpenter, s. of Capt. John Carpenter and Rebecca Redaway, b. (g.s.); m. 1) Oct. 16, 1725 at Barnstable, Joseph Lothrop, s. Dea. Samuel Lothrop and Hannah Crocker, b. Nov. 10, 1698 at Barnstable where he d. Feb 29, 1731/2 (g.s.). Two known children of the marriage. Rebecca m. 2) May 16, 1734 at Tolland, CT as his 2nd wife, Capt. Joseph Hatch, Jr., s. Joseph Hatch and Amy Allen, b. Aug. 3, 1689 at Falmouth, Mass. He d. Sept. 24, 1732 at Yarmouth, Mass., Mercy Hawes, who. d. Feb. 12, 1737/8 at Barnstable (g.s.). Three children of the marriage. David m. 2) Nov. 1, 1739 at Yarmouth, Mercy Crosby, dau. of Ebenezer and Hannah Crosby, b. Nov. 4, 1703 of record at Harwich, Mass. She d. May 14, 1785 at Barnstable (g.s.). Four children (all sons) of the marriage. • vii. Hannah Parker, b. Apr. 5 (bp Apr. 19), 1702, d. in her youth Oct. 14, 1715. • viii. Samuel Parker, b. Feb. 5, 1703/4, d. Mar. 5, 1766 at Barnstable (g.s.); m. May 11, 1732 at Barnstable, Desire Freeman, dau. of Benjamin Freeman and Temperance Dimock(q.v.), b. Apr. 20, 1711 at Harwich, Mass. She d. July 6, 1781 at Barnstable (g.s.) Eleven children of the family. • ix. Rev. Jonathan Parker, b. Jan. 1706 [/7], d. Apr. 24, 1776 at Plympton, Mass.; m. 1) by an intention pub. Mar. 3, 1732/3 at Plympton, Ruth Avery, dau. of Rev. John Avery and Ruth Little, b. July 26, 1715 at Truro, Mass. She d. May 17, 1745 at Plympton. Five children of the marriage. He m. 2) July 5, 1748 at Plympton, Lydia Bartlett, dau. Joseph Bartlett, b. Dec. 30, 1722 at Plymouth, Mass. She d. Aug. 31, 1796 at Plympton. Eight children of the marriage. • x. Nehemiah Parker, b. "last of" Oct. 1708, d. Jan. 10, 1789 at Willington, Conn.; m. by an intention pub. May 30, 1729 at Woodstock, Conn., Bethiah Bassett. Nine children of record at Willington. • xi. Mary "Molly" Parker, b. Aug. 15 (bp Aug. 21), 1710, d. before 1755; m. Nov. 25, 1746 at Plympton, Mass. (by her brother Rev. Jonathan Parker) as his 2nd of 3 wives, Josiah Edson, Jr., s. of Capt. Josiah Edson and Sarah Packard, b. Jan. 24, 1708/9 at Bridgewater, Mass. He m. 3) Abigail Dean of Taunton and prior to the Rev. War he was a Justice of the Peace, Col. of a Militia Regiment, Representative of Bridgewater to the Mass. Gen. Court, and at the time of the Battle of Bunker Hill had taken refuge at Boston during the British occupation of that city. He followed the British Army to Long Island, NY where he died in August 1776. His estate was subsequently confiscated in 1779 with his widow Abigail dying in poverty at Bridgewater in 1788. Two children of Josiah's marriage to Mary Parker are recorded at Bridgewater, son Daniel (d.y.) and dau. Mary (m. Dr. Jonathan Crane). His s. Capt. Josiah Edson, 3rd (m. Hannah Lawrence) by his 1st wife Ruth Bailey d. Dec. 26, 1778, Æ 41, and is interred with standing gravestone at the Old Scotland Cemetery (North) at Scotland, Conn. (the Bridgwater VRs otherwise claim Capt. Josiah Edson, 3rd d. Dec. 25, 1779, his wid. Hannah m. in 1782 at Bridgewater, Maj. Eliphalet Cary.)
