Born on November 2, 1929 in Chestertown, MD, he was the son of the late Norman and Blanche Meekins Peterson. At a young age, Mr. Peterson worked with the Kent County News, and then began his own moving, trucking and odd job business. Born on November 2, 1929 in Chestertown, MD, he was the son of the late Norman and Blanche Meekins Peterson. At a young age, Mr. Peterson worked with the Kent County News, and then began his own moving, trucking and odd job business. On May 14, 1949, he married Sara Frances Reed, who predeceased him in 2000. He worked as a custom farmer and also with Brooks Mill as a fertilizer and pesticide applicator. He later finished his career with C&P Telephone and AT&T Telephone as an independent maintenance supervisor. Dan, as all knew him, enjoyed hunting, carving birds, crafts, and people. He was a wonderful storyteller and conversationalist. Dan is survived by a son, Chris Peterson of Chestertown, MD and a niece, Terry Lister Marshall of Chestertown, MD. He was predeceased by his siblings, Marian, Hazel and Dick, and is also survived by several other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Funeral Home, 130 Speer Rd. Chestertown, MD, where relatives and friends may call two hours prior to the service (11-1). Interment will be in Chester Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Kent and Queen Anne's Rescue Squad P.O. Box 126 Chestertown, MD. 21620.
