Darlene Farrand, 84, of Alma, died on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at the Good Samaritan Society Colonial Villa in Alma. Darlene was born in Elgin, Nebraska, on June 15, 1937, to John and Margaret (Klink) Meis. She received her education from Elgin Public Schools and then worked as a live in house keeper and baby sitter. On May 6, 1966, Darlene was united in marriage to Dennis C. "Tiny" Farrand. They were blessed with two children: Doris and Walter. Darlene was a stay at home mom and tended to her family's needs. Darlene enjoyed knitting and she was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by a brother, George Meis in infancy; her daughter, Doris Josephine, at the age of seven; her parents; husband, Dennis; and brother-in-law, Joe Biglin. Darlene is survived by her two sons: Walter and Robert; along with other family and friends. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Bauer-Torrey & Mach Funeral Home in Alma, with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 The Bauer-Torrey & Mach Funeral Home in Alma is in charge of the arrangements
