Description	:	Son of Job Jefferis and Rebecca Long Darlington L. Jefferis - b. in Virginia 10 mo., 25, 1796; removed with his father successively to Fayette County, Pennsylvania, Butler County, Ohio, and Clinton County, Ohio. In 1820 he took up 160 acres of land in German township, Darke County, Ohio, for which he received a deed from President Monroe, and where he continued to reside until his death. He was married in 1821 to Mary Potter, b. in New Jersey. He and his wife were buried at Nashville, Darke County, Ohio. He gave to each of his four sons... He was married in 1821 to Mary Potter, b. in New Jersey. He and his wife were buried at Nashville, Darke County, Ohio. He gave to each of his four sons 80 acres of land and a good start in life, to which they have added more. They have held two annual family reunions, the last being on June 16, 1898, when a permanent organization was formed, with Squire Jefferis as president and William E. G. Jefferis as secretary. Three of the sons of Darlington L.
