Description	:	Darrald “Dick” Hurni, 92, of Antwerp, formerly of Hicksville, died Monday, April 18, 2016 at VanCrest Assisted Living in Antwerp, Ohio. Born on August 27, 1923 in Hicksville, Dick was the son of the late Scott and Geraldine (Getrost) Hurni. Dick graduated from Hicksville High School with the class of 1941. Read More	Darrald “Dick” Hurni, 92, of Antwerp, formerly of Hicksville, died Monday, April 18, 2016 at VanCrest Assisted Living in Antwerp, Ohio. Born on August 27, 1923 in Hicksville, Dick was the son of the late Scott and Geraldine (Getrost) Hurni. Dick graduated from Hicksville High School with the class of 1941. He was a member of the state basketball team 1941. In 1975, Dick married Betty Green and she preceded him in death in 1991. Dick served in the U.S. Marines during WWII and Korea. He owned Hurni Nationwide Insurance Company in Hicksville for many years. Later in life, he worked for the Ft. Wayne Auto Auction. Dick was a member of The American Legion for 60+years, former Rotary Club member, Boy Scout leader and youth group leader. Dick is survived by his children, Colleen (Rick) Richter, Rick Hurni, Marcia (Ron) Tuttle; five grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Janis Hurni Brown. Visitation for Dick will be Friday from 5-7 at Smith Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2:00 at VanCrest Essen House in the dining room.
