Born on May 9, 1929 in Hicksville, Corinne was the daughter of the late William and Audrey (Peter) Cleland. Corinne was a 1947 graduate of Hicksville High School. Read More	Laura Corinne Hurni, 87, of Hicksville, died Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Born on May 9, 1929 in Hicksville, Corinne was the daughter of the late William and Audrey (Peter) Cleland. Corinne was a 1947 graduate of Hicksville High School. She began her working career at Brannan’s Sandwich Shop as a waitress. She then became a teller at The Hicksville Bank. After a time, she became owner of Village Reality where she was an agent for 50 years. Corinne was a life long member of St. John Lutheran Church, Hicksville. She was active as a Luther League counselor, the church secretary and a choir member. Corinne was very active in the community and her professional life. She was a member of the Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary, North West Ohio Board of Realtors, Equestrian Therapy Board, Hicksville Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Citizen of the Year in 2008, Red Cross volunteer and a Girl Scout Leader. She was passionate about the Huber Opera House and Village Players. In her spare time, she loved reading and being a member of a bridge club. Corinne is survived by two daughters, Colleen (Rick) Richter, Marcia (Ron) Tuttle; a son, Rick (Susan) Hurni; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; siblings, Carolyn (Ben) Self, Lynn (Mary) Cleland, Edward (Katie) Cleland, and sister in law, Doris Cleland. She was preceded in death by a brother William Cleland. Funeral services for Corinne will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Hicksville, with Pastor Vicky Coombs officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00 at Smith & Brown Funeral Home. Visitation will also take place one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville.
