Description	:	Darrel Eugene Rauch, of Parker CO, died Saturday, January 11, 2020 at his home in Parker from natural causes at 90 years old. Darrel was born to Lowell Clayton Rauch and Blanche Showalter on July 21, 1929 in Decatur County IA, he was the first child of 9 children that Lowell and Blanche would have. Read More	Darrel Eugene Rauch, of Parker CO, died Saturday, January 11, 2020 at his home in Parker from natural causes at 90 years old. Darrel was born to Lowell Clayton Rauch and Blanche Showalter on July 21, 1929 in Decatur County IA, he was the first child of 9 children that Lowell and Blanche would have. Darrel was raised in Cambridge, NE and attended school at Cambridge where he played football for the Trojans and graduated in 1948. During his early years he helped on the farm feeding and caring for livestock as well as farming. His passion for cars found him working on them every chance possible and he and his brother and two sisters drove to high school in a Model A Roadster that kept him busy working on. Darrel met the love of his life, Doris Breinig at a Saturday night dance and convinced her to marry him on March 30, 1950 in Beaver City, NE. They made their home in Arapahoe NE where their two sons were born, Richard Eugene Rauch (Gene) and Clayton Duane Rauch (Duane). In the mid 50’s they packed up their belongings on a hay rack and moved to Denver, CO in search of work. Darrel started working for Gates Rubber Company in 1955 and worked for them for 25 years. In 1956 Darrel and Doris had a baby girl Teresa Marie who lived for just a few days and they buried her in Arapahoe, NE where Doris and Darrel will be buried side by side. In 1957 they had another girl Shirley Nadeen Rauch and they moved to a home on Grove Street in Denver where they lived until all their children left home. In the evenings Darrel would work on cars in his garage and soon developed a thriving business of auto repair. Doris & Darrel built an auto repair shop on Evans Blvd and maintained a multi-bay facility employing several. In 1991 Darrel and Doris relocated to Byers, CO to a quieter way of life, only to find his reputation followed him and his repair business continued. If Darrel didn’t have a little dirt under his fingernails, he wasn’t happy. He was a master mechanic and could figure out the toughest problems. In 2014 Darrel and Doris sold their house in Byers and moved to a smaller town house in Parker, CO to be closer to kids and health care. Darrel was the President of the Rocky Mountain CORSA Club and they traveled with friends and showed their multiple Corvairs. He and Doris spent time at their farm just south of Arapahoe and enjoyed the quiet peaceful setting. Darrel lost the love of his life in July of 2018 after 68 years of marriage. He continued to live in Parker surrounded by his kids, grandkids and great grandkids. He was taken care of by an angel by the name of Rosa and she was with him when he passed. Darrel and Doris were very fortunate to have such great care with their other caregivers which kept them from the nursing home and with each other at home. Darrel was preceded in death by his mother and father, his daughter Teresa, 3 sisters, Connie, Donna and Joanne and 1 brother Earl, his sister in law Margaret and husband Harvey, his sister in law Janice Breinig. He is survived by 3 brothers Kenneth and his wife Virginia of Montana, Jim and Midge Rauch of Mesa, CO and Dale and Pam Rauch of Grand Island, 1 brother in law Lyle Breinig, 2 sons, Gene and his wife Debbie and Duane and his wife Pam, 1 daughter Shirley and her husband Joe Kirby, 6 grandkids Kim and husband Dave Ewan from Phoenix, Brandy Kirby from Phoenix, Jennifer Rauch from Littleton, CO, Jackie Rauch from Aurora, CO, Patrick Rauch from Crested Butte, CO and Andy Rauch of Denver, 13 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. They say there are no good mechanics in heaven well now they have one of the best.
