Read More	Husband of Priscilla Jane "Jennie" Bennyworth and Sarah Ada Bennyworth THE LARNED CHRONOSCOPE Larned, Kansas Friday, December 29, 1899 DEATH OF DAVID BARDRICK The citizens of Larned were shocked Wednesday morning on learning of the death of Mr. David Bardrick, which occurred at his home in this city at five o'clock that morning. The immediate cause of his death was stoppage of the bowels and he was sick only a few hours, having been at his place of business Monday morning. His age was seventy-two years, six months and twenty-nine days and was a resident of this city for the past twenty-two years, during which time he has been one of our most respected and honored business men and citizens. The funeral services were held at the Methodist church Thursday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. C. D. Hestwood officiating. The remains were buried in the Larned cemetery and were followed to their last resting place by a large concourse of friends and neighbors. Mr. Bardrick was born May 29th, 1827, in Bedfordshire, England, where he resided until 1838, when he immigrated to the United States and settled in Illinois. In 1853 he joined the Illinois conference of the Methodist church and followed preaching for several years, until he was compelled to leave the pulpit on account of throat trouble. He was twice married, his first wife being Miss Jennie Bennyworth, to whom he was married in 1857, and who died in 1871. In September, 1873, he was again married, this time to Miss Sarah A. Bennyworth, who survives him. In 1877 Mr. Bardrick moved to this city, where he has since resided. During his residence here Mr. Bardrick has been actively engaged in business of various kinds, and at the time of his death was engaged in the furniture business. In the death of Mr. Bardrick Larned loses one of best and most respected citizens, a man of high Christian character, who always had a good word for everyone and not an enemy on earth. He was one of the leaders in the Methodist church and his acts of charity were numerous. He was a kind and indulgent husband and his bereaved wife will have the sympathy of the entire community in her sad bereavement.
