David Boucher Jr., is Called to His Long Home. At 3 o’clock this morning, David Boucher, Jr., passed away at the residence of J.W. Bowers in this city. For several months it had been noticed by friends of the deceased that he was in poor health, and it was no surprise to them when the attending physician announced that he was suffering from that dread disease – consumption. For the past few weeks the patient had been stopping at the Bowers residence. All that medical skill and loving friends could do had been of no avail, and it was evident several days ago that life could not be prolonged but a short time. Deceased was a son of the late Hon. David Boucher, who was joint Senator from Butte, Plumas and Lassen counties in 1870. David Boucher Jr., was born in Chico in 1873. He received his early education in the schools of this city, afterwards attending the Heald’s Business College of San Francisco. After completing the business course, he returned here where he has since resided. Deceased leaves a brother, Joseph Boucher, and an uncle to mourn his loss, to whom the Enterprise extends feelings of sympathy. The funeral will take place tomorrow at 2:30 from the Bowers residence, corner of Third and Hazel streets. ~~~ Laid to Rest. This afternoon at 2:30 the funeral of the late David Boucher took place from the residence of J.W. Bowers, Rev. A.R. Hathaway officiating. A large number of friends of the deceased were present, and the floral offerings were many. The minister, in feeling words, spoke of the many noble trails of character of deceased, and dwelt at some length upon the importance of young and old alike being prepared for the end, as we know not when it shall come.
